The development
Marakai is a three-building, 318-suite rental community on Wilfert Drive in Colwood, on the western shore of Greater Victoria, built for the same national family developer.
What we did
Every suite received open-roll roller shades fitted with Government of Canada–approved chain guards, so the chain stays secured to the wall and meets corded window covering safety requirements.
Bedrooms use a blackout opaque fabric for full room darkening. Living rooms and all common areas use a privacy light-filtering fabric that softens daylight while keeping the space bright.
Why it matters
The shop drawings, fabric selections and install sequence were already settled on earlier buildings with this developer, so on a new community the difference shows up in the schedule rather than in the samples.
