The development
The Station is a three-building, 160-suite rental community in Chilliwack, in the Fraser Valley east of Vancouver, built for the same national family developer.
What we did
Every suite received open-roll roller shades fitted with Government of Canada–approved chain guards, so the chain stays secured to the wall and meets corded window covering safety requirements.
Bedrooms use a blackout opaque fabric for full room darkening. Living rooms and all common areas use a privacy light-filtering fabric that softens daylight while keeping the space bright.
Why it matters
Three buildings is still hundreds of openings. Standardizing on one shade assembly, two fabrics and one safety device keeps the take-off simple, the install orderly and the punch list short.
